Julie Barranco Esq.Attorney
Attorney Julie Barranco was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She attended Florida International University where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications with a minor in Art. She went on to law school at St. Thomas University where she graduated with honors in 2014. While in law school, she was a Certified Legal Intern with the Miami-Dade Public Defender’s Office where she helped defend low-income individuals’ constitutional rights. During her time at St. Thomas University, she also worked at a civil litigation firm in their finance acquisition department as well assisted with appeals.
Upon passing the Florida Bar, Julie immediately began working at Gonzalez & Associates in the Civil Litigation Department representing medical providers in disputes against insurance companies.

Luis Huguet Esq.Attorney
Attorney Luis Huguet, born in Peru, earned both his undergraduate and law degrees from Saint Thomas University. As an undergraduate, he earned a scholarship playing tennis for the Bobcats, where he competed all over the State representing his alma mater. Luis joined The Law Offices of Gonzalez & Associates in 2013. His main practice focuses on Personal Injury Protection and Bodily Injury, however, Luis has ample experience in Bankruptcy Law as well.
Luis currently serves as the managing attorney of our Orlando, Florida office. The administrative portion of his job is something that Luis has appreciated very much since it provides new dares in his professional career. Luis decided to transfer to Orlando after he was offered the position in 2015. His Bar and Court Admissions include Florida Bar 2012, United States District Court Southern District of Florida 2013 and the United States District Court Middle District of Florida 2016.
Tahya Fuenmayor Esq.Attorney
Attorney Tahya Fuenmayor was born in Venezuela and raised in Florida, where she completed both her undergraduate and law school education. After graduating from Florida State University with a Bachelor in History and Dean’s Honors, she attended St Thomas University School of Law, where she graduated as the youngest member of her class at the age of twenty- three in 1999. She has now practiced for close to 20 years concentrating at all times in civil litigation.
In order to sharpen her skills at negotiating settlements, Tahya successfully completed a certified mediator’s course in 2008. Tahya is knowledgeable in both the legal and the procedural aspects of any civil case and has developed a reputation of fairness and honesty within the legal community. She has gained valuable experience from participating in countless jury trials and bench trials across the state of Florida, in civil matter ranging from Real Estate transactions to family law issues and civil disputes.
Currently, Tahya is the senior attorney at the firm, practicing in the area of Personal Injury Protection, and representing both clinics and patients in protecting their rights against insurance companies. She has been responsible for thousands of cases resolving against the insurance company and in favor of her clients and continues to fight for the equal administration of justice.
Nelson Guerra Esq.Attorney
Attorney Nelson A. Guerra obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Tulane University and a Juris Doctor degree from Texas Southern University. After graduation, he returned to Tampa and began his career as an Assistant Public Defender where he gained extensive trial and litigation experience. After leaving the public sector, he worked for private firms defending bodily injury, wrongful death, and premises liability claims from pre-suit through all phases of litigation including state trials.
Nelson joined Gonzalez & Associates in 2013 and serves as the managing attorney of our Brandon, Florida office. He currently represents medical service providers in pursuit of payment of reduced or unpaid insurance claims, debtors in bankruptcy proceedings and homeowners in mortgage foreclosure cases. Having been licensed to practice law in Florida since 1995, he has a broad range of experience regarding a variety of matters.
Relying on his prior experience, in 2007 Mr. Guerra began to help bodily injury claimants prosecute their claims. Additionally, as a Supreme Court certified Circuit and County Court mediator and Federal mediator, he has significant experience in alternative dispute resolution. He has also represented many consumers prosecuting lemon law claims before the Attorney General’s office. Mr. Guerra is licensed to practice law in all Florida State Courts. He is also admitted to the United States District Court for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida, the Florida Middle District Bankruptcy Court and to the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
Christina M. Coello Esq.
Attorney Christina M. Coello was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Florida International University and continued on to Florida International University College of Law where she graduated with a Juris Doctor in 2014. Prior to joining Gonzalez & Associates, Mrs. Coello served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Don S. Cohn. Christina was also a legal intern for Florida International University’s Carlos A. Costa Immigration and Human Rights Clinic, where she helped
the most vulnerable populations in the U.S. with their pending immigration cases.
After law school, Mrs. Coello joined The Law offices of Gonzalez & Associates and is currently an associate in our Miami office.
As an associate for our firm, she focuses on practicing personal injury, bankruptcy, civil litigation, and immigration.
Mrs. Coello has attended various immigration and civil trials and has attained numerous successes in both areas through her vigorous advocacy for her client’s rights.
Attorney Christina M. Coello is currently a member of the Florida Bar Association and has been admitted to the U.S. Southern District of Florida.
She is also a member of the Dade County Bar Association.
Leo Manon Esq.
Attorney Leonardo Manon III attended law school at St. Thomas University School of Law where he received his Juris Doctorate.
While studying for his law degree, Mr. Manon did an internship with The Miami-Dade Public Defenders Office where he focused on criminal defense. In addition, he sought to expand his legal knowledge and served as a law clerk in Gonzalez & Associates’ civil litigation department, where he focused on helping clients recover unpaid benefits from insurance companies.
Upon becoming a licensed attorney in Florida, Leo decided to continue to provide public service at the Miami-Dade Public Defenders Office in the domestic representation unit.
Mr. Manon then moved on to the private defense sector.
However, in view of his own personal experience with an insurance claim, Attorney Leonardo Manon felt that he would better serve his community in recovering funds that were wrongfully denied or reduced and started concentrating his practice helping homeowners with their property damage claims.
Mr. Manon is also a licensed member of the D.C. Bar.
Alexis Gonzalez Esq.
Attorney Alexis Gonzalez was born and raised in Miami, Florida. While Ms. Gonzalez’s practice primarily concentrates on family law, her practice also consists of general civil litigation, personal injury claims, property damage and contract disputes. Alexis’ passion for family advocacy began early on in her career, working as a pre-school teacher while completing her undergraduate degree. Seeking a change of pace, Ms. Gonzalez left the classroom and joined the Gonzalez & Associates team in 2011 as a legal assistant. It was during her time here that her second passion ignited – a passion for the law, leading her to Florida International University School of Law after two years with the firm.
During law school, Alexis spent her time focusing on advocating for children’s’, families’ and LGBT rights spending time working in the school’s Family and Education Law Clinic, Domestic Violence Clinic, and serving as Vice President of the Stonewall Legal Alliance (FIU’s LGBT Law Association).
In 2016, Alexis re-joined the Gonzalez & Associates Team as an associate, establishing the Family Law area of practice within the Firm and going on to secure two successful verdicts at trial within her first two years of practice. As a family law attorney, Alexis places a high importance on her role not only as advocate, but as counselor to her clients, taking time to listen and understand each clients’ unique circumstance.
Alexis is admitted to practice in Florida State Courts as well as in United States District Courts.
